On Thursday March 26,2026, The Kigali City Administration and the Ministry of Education held a meeting with the Head Teachers of private schools in KigaliYacu. The ESSI-Nyamirambo school was represented by the Head Teacher Mr. Abdu NTAMUTURANO. The participants of the meeting discussed various issues including the implementation of regulations and laws governing schools, school management and school infrastructure, hygiene and sanitation, and the effective use of educational information. The Deputy Mayor of Kigali City in charge of Economy and Social Affairs, URUJENI Martine, said that private schools play a major role in the education system in Kigali City, where they account for 73.5% of all schools, and accommodate nearly 30.5% of all students. He also said that the collaboration of these schools and government institutions is essential in promoting quality education.
